Next Steps

On-campus housing for the Volunteer Bridge Program is at capacity.  We cannot guarantee you on-campus housing at this time. You can be put on a waitlist by saying YES to the Housing Proxy in your VIP portal.  We suggest you explore the many off-campus housing locations within walking distance to campus.

Congratulations and welcome! You must first select Volunteer Bridge as your Road To Rocky Top, by logging into your VIP Portal and making your selection by May 3, 2021. After completing the form, you will receive information about next steps via email. Your NetID and Student ID will populate in your VIP Portal within 2-3 business days.

If you have completed the acceptance form, continue on to the next steps below to confirm your participation in the program and prepare for your year as a Volunteer Bridge student.

Fill out the acceptance form from your invitation and then follow these next steps.

Pay Your Enrollment Deposit
Before you confirm, set up your NetID password. Your NetID is your UT username, which you’ll find in your VIP account at govols.utk.edu/portal/statusVisit directory.utk.edu/setup to set up your password.

Use your NetID and password to log in to your MyUTK account and also your UT email, the official means of communication for UT students. If you have any NetID questions, call the Office of Information Technology Help Desk at 865-974-9900.

To reserve your space in Volunteer Bridge and confirm your participation in the program, log in to your MyUTK account at my.utk.edu and pay the $250 non-refundable enrollment deposit by May 3, 2021.

During the spring, more details about housing, dining, orientation, and course registration will be sent to your UT email inbox.

SELECT HOUSING OPTION BY MAY 24

After confirming your enrollment, monitor your UT email account for information about University Housing. You must choose your housing option (on-campus or commuter) by May 24. PELLISSIPPI ORIENTATION

Ready to learn more about being a Volunteer Bridge student? We’re preparing online orientation modules full of helpful information specific to the Volunteer Bridge Program. In early June, look for an email in your PSCC inbox from your Volunteer Bridge Orientation Leader. They will introduce you to the orientation experience and how it will work. In early July, you will be instructed on how to access the modules. These modules are required, self-paced, and will help you better understand the program while being introduced to your support team at both PSCC and UT.

PELLISSIPPI ADVISING

Virtual Advising will begin in mid-May and be conducted with your academic advisor at Pellissippi State Community College. Once you have completed the PSCC application and added PSCC to your FAFSA an advisor from PSCC will contact you via email to set up an advising appointment.  Virtual advising will continue through mid-July.

Please Note: Test-optional students are required to provide ACT/SAT test scores or take placement exams (Accuplacer) if no scores are provided. This is to ensure accurate course advising prior to class registration at PSCC. Exam results may require enrollment for the Summer 2022 semester.

Please review the PSCC advising website for tips on preparing for your PSCC advising appointment. You might also find the PSCC catalog and PSCC/UT transfer equivalency table helpful.
