Fill out the acceptance form from your invitation and then follow these next steps.

Pay Your Enrollment Deposit
Before you confirm, set up your NetID password. Your NetID is your UT username, which you’ll find in your VIP account at govols.utk.edu/portal/statusVisit directory.utk.edu/setup to set up your password.

Use your NetID and password to log in to your MyUTK account and also your UT email, the official means of communication for UT students. If you have any NetID questions, call the Office of Information Technology Help Desk at 865-974-9900.

To reserve your space in Volunteer Bridge and confirm your participation in the program, log in to your MyUTK account at my.utk.edu and pay the $250 non-refundable enrollment deposit by June 1, 2020.

During the spring, more details about housing, dining, orientation, and course registration will be sent to your UT email inbox.

SELECT HOUSING OPTION BY JUNE 1

After confirming your enrollment, monitor your UT email account for information about University Housing. You must choose your housing option (on-campus or commuter) by June 1. Log on govols.utk.edu/portal/status to complete your forms as soon as possible, as on-campus housing is limited and on a first-come, first-served basis.

Volunteer Bridge students live together in Clement Hall with several other Living and Learning Communities. Clement Hall is conveniently located near Cumberland Aver and the new Student Union. For pictures and more information, visit https://housing.utk.edu/halls/clement-hall-2/.

Orientation is the beginning of your journey as a Volunteer.

REGISTER FOR ORIENTATION

Volunteer Bridge Orientation is changing due to the COVID-19 crisis.  We will not have an in-person orientation in July.  If you have already registered for the July orientation–great!  If you have not yet registered, register at https://webapps.utk.edu/StudentOrientation/Register/. Please be sure to register for Session 70, Session 71, or Session 72. We are planning an awesome experience for students and guests, and we still need you to register.  Note: There will be no fee for Volunteer Bridge orientation this year. If you paid that fee, you will be reimbursed.

Step 1: Complete Virtual Advising at PSCC in May
Beginning in mid-May, an advisor from PSCC will contact you via your PSCC email account to schedule a virtual academic advising appointment. During this time, you will register for your fall classes at PSCC.

Step 2: Participate in Online Modules
Ready to learn more about being a Volunteer Bridge student? We’re preparing online orientation modules full of helpful information specific to the Volunteer Bridge Program. In early June, look for an email in your PSCC inbox with a short survey for you to complete. In early July, you will be instructed on how to access the modules. These modules are required and will help you better understand the program while being introduced to your support team at both PSCC and UT.

Step 3: Move-In & Welcome Week
Volunteer Bridge Welcome Week will include move-in on August 18 and an in-person orientation experience at the PSCC campus on August 19. Plus, there will be additional opportunities throughout the remainder of the weekend leading up to classes starting on August 24!

UPLOAD A STUDENT ID PHOTO
Before orientation, upload your own photo for your UT student ID (VolCard). Visit volcard.utk.edu for instructions.

Pellissippi Advising

Virtual Advising will begin in mid-May and be conducted with your academic advisor at Pellissippi State Community College. Once you have completed the PSCC application and added PSCC to your FAFSA an advisor from PSCC will contact you via email to set up an advising appointment.  Virtual advising will continue through mid-July.

Please review the PSCC advising website for tips on preparing for your PSCC advising appointment. You might also find the PSCC catalog and PSCC/UT transfer equivalency table helpful.
